I was appalled to see a full page advertisement (Feb. 2) praising Sen. Susan Collins for her vote for the Keystone pipeline. It was paid for by the Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions.
How does allowing a foreign country the right to build a pipeline, carrying the dirtiest oil ever, through the heart of this country, to be refined then shipped to the world market — how does that advance U.S. energy security?
As for “climate security,” is building that pipeline somehow protecting the climate? All oil pipes leak, especially when they are made with cheap steel from overseas.
If the Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions are trying to enhance her image, she should first explain what she means before they pay for a full-page advertisement to her.
Is she also riding in the clown car with the other GOP hopefuls?
