Roberts Farm open during vacation

NORWAY — The Roberts Farm Preserve warming hut will be open — with cross country skis and snowshoes available to borrow — from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 16 through Feb. 20, for school vacation week.

It will continue to be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The 165-acre preserve is at 64 Roberts Road and includes several free trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Pie sale to follow linguine supper 

MEXICO — A pie sale will be conducted at the chicken and cheese linguine supper which is being served at the Mexico Congregational Church, UCC on Saturday, Feb. 14.

Supper will be at 5 p.m., and the pie sale will follow.

While homemade pie is the dessert for the supper, the church’s bakers have made extra pies in favorite flavors to be auctioned off following the meal.

Storytelling Guild to meet Feb. 19

FARMINGTON — The monthly meeting of the WOODS (Western Order of Dedicated Storytellers) Storytelling Guild will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Farmington Public Library on Academy Street.

All who are interested in storytelling are welcome. Telling is optional.

MEXICO — The Class of 1960 from Mexico High School will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Gatch’s.

WATERFORD — The Wilkins Community House will host a community potluck supper at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19. The community house is on Plummer Hill in Waterford Flat next to the church.

Supper to benefit Kenneth Lowell

JAY — There will be a benefit spaghetti supper for Kenneth Lowell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Lowell, from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Main Street.

Lowell needs help with the overwhelming medical expenses of a recent kidney transplant.

Supper at American Legion planned

LIVERMORE FALLS — George Bunten Post 10, American Legion, will hold a supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the hall at 17 Reynolds Ave. Cost for adults is $7; kids under 12, $4. Menu includes homemade baked beans, red hot dogs, biscuits, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, assorted casseroles and vegetables, desserts and coffee.

Chicken pie supper, Jones Dance Band

PARIS — There will be a chicken pie supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Foster-Carroll Post No. 72, 12 Church St., sponsored by the Auxiliary Unit No. 72.

Cost for supper only is $8 for adults, $4 ages 12 and under.

The Jones Dance Band will play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dance only is $5.

Public supper at Harnden Masonic Hall

WILTON — On Saturday, Feb. 21, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., there will be a public supper, to benefit the building fund, at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Hall, 70 Bryant Road in East Wilton.

The menu is ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, homemade pies and beverages. Cost is $8 per person, $5 for those under the age of 12.

Chinese auction at Fairbanks School

FARMINGTON — A Chinese auction, a cabin-fever reliever featuring over 100 items, will take place Sunday, Feb. 22, at Fairbanks School, 508 Fairbanks Road.

Bidding will start at noon, with drawing of tickets at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are five for $1; buy 25 and get five free.

The school is 2.5 miles north from the lights in the center of downtown Farmington.

READFIELD — The Friends of the Readfield Community Library invites you to its first fundraising event, a cribbage/scrabble social, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Readfield Town Hall.

Scrabble boards will be provided; extra cribbage boards and cards are welcome.

Oxford Legion seeks sale vendors

OXFORD — On Saturday, Feb. 28, Anderson Staples American Legion Post 112 will hold an indoor yard sale/craft fair at their Post Home on King Street. The hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The public is invited. Donations will be accepted for coffee and doughnuts.

Post 112 will also host a public supper that same day from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will consist of beans, hot dogs, coleslaw, brown bread and gingerbread with whipped topping for dessert. A variety of drinks will also be available. Supper will be by donation.

All money received from this day will be used to help with projects that include veterans activities and community service.

Farmington Rotary plans Price Is Right

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Rotary will present the 2015 Price Is Right from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Mt. Blue High School.

General admission is $10. Doors open at 5 p.m. Concessions will be sold.

This year’s theme is Superheroes.

Paper celebration needs vendors, sponsors

LIVERMORE FALLS — On Aug. 29 in Livermore Falls and Jay, there will be a celebration of the local paper and forestry heritage. Organized by Maine’s Paper and Heritage Museum, the first Paper and Wood Products Celebration will bring together loggers, mill workers, crafters and all who support them and their industries.

Sing-along benefits food pantry

WILTON — A sing-along, Busting Out of Winter with a Song, will take place on Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Wilton Congregational Church.

The churches of Wilton are uniting for a different fundraiser for the Wilton Food Pantry, Dawn Girardin said.

Starting at 1 p.m., the public is welcome to come sing along to popular songs from the 1930s to present, she said. Donations will be taken at the door.

It’s a time for building community spirit, raising funds and passing through any cabin fever, she said.

Organizers are looking for someone who can help by playing an instrument. Anyone with interest is asked to contact Girardin at 585-2130.
