A Mighty Lion will be kicking off the weekend at Pedro O’Hara’s on Friday, with an opening act from the band Zealous Bellus. A Mighty Lion is a Maine-based, original, four-piece rock-reggae band with a rapidly growing following in the Lewiston-Auburn region and beyond. After more than five years together, the band continues to get tighter and funkier the longer the musicians perform as a unit. Might Lion’s grooves are nothing if not infectious and fiendishly catchy. The band has a trademark sound that has been winning new fans with each successive gig. Founding members Nick Racioppi (guitar) and Byron Malcom (bass) were joined in 2009 by Nick Mastrella on drums and in 2012 by Aaron Stone on guitar. There is no cover charge. The music runs from 8 p.m. to midnight. Pedro O’Hara’s is located at 134 Main St., Lewiston.
