AUBURN — A man fell through the roof at Hartt Transportation Systems on Hotel Road just before noon Thursday.

According to Deputy Fire Chief Geoff Low, the 48-year-old dropped about 25 feet after falling through a skylight and onto some boxes before landing on the floor. Low said the man was conscious and didn’t show any obvious injuries.

Low said he didn’t know whether the man was an employee of the company or what sort of work he was performing on the roof.

The man was loaded into an ambulance and taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. It was believed he was released from the hospital later in the day.

Shortly after the fall, another man was seen carrying snow scoops off the roof to a ladder propped against the eave of the roof.

Editor’s note: On March 13, Auburn Deputy Chief Jason Moen identified the injured man as James Dugay.
