1943 – 2015

CUMBERLAND FORESIDE — Doris Russell Dupal, 72, of Durham, passed away Saturday, March 7, at Ledgeview Assisted Living, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 20, 1943, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mabel (Booker) Russell. She attended Lisbon Falls schools and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1961. She married Bruce J. Dupal on Aug. 12, 1961.

Doris worked at Healthtex in Brunswick and Farnsworth Mill in Lisbon Center and Lewiston. She also worked with her mother, the town of Durham tax collector and treasurer. In 1975, she started working for Lisbon High School in the office, until her retirement in 2003.

She was a member of the Durham Friends Church and the Maine Education Association. She will always be remembered for her fantastic cooking and quilting, and her kind and compassionate nature.

Doris is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Allen and her husband, Stanley, and Tracy Reed and her husband, Paul; and one son, Russell Dupal and his wife, Sheila, all of Durham. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Chelsea and Tyler Dupal, and Spencer and Joseph Reed, all of Durham; a sister, Barbara Weldon and her husband, John, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two nephews, Michael Weldon and his wife, Elaine, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Stephen Weldon and his wife, Corena, of Auburn; and two nieces, Sandra Radomski and her husband, John, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Stephanie Dupal and her husband, Stuart Smith, of Edgecomb.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bruce.
