1928 – 2015
LEWISTON — Hubert I. Marcotte, 86, of 12 O’Connell St., Lewiston, died Sunday, March 15, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.
He was born in Suncook, N.H., on June 27, 1928, the son of Joseph H. and Marie Michaud Marcotte.
On Oct. 16, 1950, he married the former Elaine Joan Gilbert. She passed away in 1997.
He served with the U.S. Army in the 1950s, and went on to work for Bonafide, Knapp Shoe and Philips Elmet, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish.
He loved the Red Sox, Patriots and NASCAR, and enjoyed camping and listening to country music.
Survivors include his son, Michael Marcotte of Lewiston; daughter, Patricia Marcotte of Brunswick; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by four sisters, Beatrice Berube, Grace Strout, Anita Marcotte and Florence Battiste.
