1925 – 2015

RUMFORD — Mary Geraldine “Annie” Papsadora, 90, died on Tuesday, March 24, at the Rumford Community Home, where she had resided.

Born in Mexico on Feb. 19, 1925, she was a daughter of Patrick and Mary (Richards) Martin. She was a graduate of Mexico High School and had worked as a waitress at the Mexico Chicken Coop for 30 years.

After retiring, Annie moved to Largo, Fla., where she lived for 20 years prior to moving back to Maine in 2010.

Annie was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior St. Athanasius-St. John Church in Rumford and also a member of the American Legion No. 24 Auxiliary, Rumford. Annie was a past member of Oakdale Country Club, where she enjoyed many good years of golfing.

Survivors include three sons, Frank and his companion, Dawn Simmons, of Largo, Fla., William “Bill” and his wife, Charlene, of Peru, and Thomas and his wife, Dottie, of Scarborough; two daughters, Sandra Blanchette and her husband, Danny, of Lisbon Falls, and Judy Walker of Wilton; two sisters, Dorina Bernard of Rumford, and Alice Cereneweitz of Daytona, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Edgar Bernard of Rumford; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-stepgrandson; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, Daniel and Timothy; a granddaughter, Lisa Walker; three brothers, Edmund Martin, Rudolph “Pepper” Martin and Henry “Husky” Martin; and a sister, Dorothy Bernard.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Rumford Community Home for the wonderful care given to our mother and to Dr. Ledesma for his care and compassion over the past several years.
