1935 – 2015

DAYTONA, Fla. — Earl Grafton Fenwick Sr., 79, passed away in Daytona, Fla., on Thursday, March 19.

Earl was born in Belfast, on Aug. 18, 1935, the son of Grafton and Charlotte (Parlin) Fenwick. He graduated from Farmington High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he reached the rank of sergeant.

He moved to Maryland and there he married Sylvia Lee Milone. He had four children and two stepchildren. They were later divorced.

Earl returned to Maine in the 1970s, where he met and married Charlotte Bogue in Madison on June 17, 1989. Both retired in 1991 and spent most of their remaining years in Florida.

Earl was an avid golfer and in his later years, both of them enjoyed their affiliation with the Briarwood Bowling League in Port Orange, Fla.

After battling Parkinson’s disease for more than 20 years, Earl entered the VA Nursing Home in Daytona, Fla., where he received excellent care for his final two years.

Earl is survived by his four children, Terry Cahall and Tracy Hajir of Maryland, Sherry Smith of Delaware and Earl G. Fenwick Jr. of Middleburg, Fla.; two stepchildren; his five brothers, Ted of Florida, Travis and Tellis of Maine, Terry of Texas, Talma of Missouri; his wife of 25 years, Charlotte of Maine; and her four children, Mark, Bruce and Jon, all of Maine, and Elaine of Massachusetts; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Joan.
