RUMFORD — The veterans’ advocate will be at the Rumford VA Clinic, third floor, on the second Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. until noon. The next visit will be Thursday, April 9.

Quilters to meet April 9

RUMFORD — The Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, at the Rumford United Methodist Chapel, Linnell Street. All area quilters are welcome.

Small quilted articles will be accepted at this meeting for the quilt show at the Victorian Villa scheduled for later in April. Be sure your name is attached to the article(s) for identification.

Public supper scheduled for Carthage

CARTHAGE  — A public supper will be held at Carthage Town Office building at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 11, to benefit Ted and Wanda Flagg of Carthage who lost their home in a recent house fire.

Tickets will be $7 for adults and children under 12 will be $3.50. The meal will consist of baked beans, casseroles, cole slaw, rolls, pies, punch and coffee.

Daughters of Isabella to meet April 14

RUMFORD — The St. Timothy’s Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, at the Holy Savior Church Hall. Chairpersons are Lorraine Barre and Simone Rafuse. Also on the committee are Viola Worcester, Marie Coffin, Maureen Leavitt, Nicole Harris and Louise Richard.

The following will be congratulated on 25 years-plus membership to the Daughters of Isabella: Marie Boudreau, 48 years; Mary Buccina, 54 years; Hazel Buccina, 51 years; and Jennie Curato, 54 years.

Divine Mercy will be observed at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, with Chaplet to begin at 3 p.m. Light refreshments provided by Daughters of Isabella will be served in the church hall after the service.

Applications accepted for craft fair

RUMFORD — Applications for crafters who would like to participate in the Hope Association’s annual Spring Craft Fair are now available. The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at 85 Lincoln Ave.

Fees for tables will go toward Special Olympics Summer Games for Hope Association’s Team Sunshine.

Cost is $15 for each 8-foot table. Two chairs will be provided per table. Tables will be $10 each if the crafter provides a donation to the silent auction.

Legion to host public super

RUMFORD — A public supper and Chinese Auction benefit for Special Olympics will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., or until sold out, on Saturday, April 18, at the American Legion.

Menu will include beans, macaroni and cheese, chop suey, coleslaw, homemade rolls, assorted pies and desserts

Dirigo class of ’75 to hold reunion

DIXFIELD — The Dirigo High School Class of 1975 will hold its 40th class reunion on Saturday, July 11, at Welch’s Campground in Dixfield. Classmates may gather from 11 a.m. and on throughout the day.

Bring your own food and drink. Grills will be provided.

The cost for the location rental is $15 per classmate.
