LISBON — Pauline H. Marchant, 94, of Lisbon passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, March 28, with her family by her side.

She was born in Atlanta, Ga., on Oct. 25, 1920, the daughter of the late Paul and Doris (Burrill) Hescock. The family later moved to North Hampton, N.H., where they would reside for several years.

On Dec. 8, 1941, she married George Marchant Sr. in Massachusetts, and they started a family together. In 1950, they moved back to Maine, where they would remain as residents.

Pauline will always be remembered for her love of reading, gardening, making puzzles and bird-watching. She was also a very passionate fan of auto racing and her favorite NASCAR driver was Jeff Gordon.

Some of her most cherished moments were the times spent with her grandson, Freddie, and his family during the holidays, especially Christmas morning, watching her great-grandchildren open presents.

She will be sadly missed by her two children, Pauline Clavet and her husband, Alfred Sr., of Middletown, Conn., and Shirley Flaherty of Lewiston; as well as her 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
