Kindergarten registration scheduled

SUMNER — Hartford-Sumner Elementary School — serving the towns of Hartford, Sumner and Buckfield — will conduct kindergarten registration and screening for the 2015-2016 class from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 15 and 16 at the school, 145 Maine St., Sumner.

All children who register must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 15, 2015.

To register, call the Hartford Sumner Elementary School’s office at 388-2681. Be prepared to provide the child’s name, address, telephone number and date of birth.

You must bring an official copy of your child’s birth certificate with you. Screenings last about one hour.

All students must be registered and screened prior to enrollment, including current pre-schoolers.

Hunter Safety Course offered

HARRISON — The Western Maine Fish & Game Club will sponsor a Hunter Safety Course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 18 and 19.

Registration is first-come, first-served, starting at 7:30 a.m. on April 18. The cost is $5 for the weekend. The class will be held at the Club, 1026 Norway Road (Route 117), in Harrison.

The clubhouse is located just past the Harrison Transfer Station. Students between 10 and 12 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Any student younger than 18 must have a parent’s signature on the registration form. Students must attend both days to pass the course.

Auction benefits Responsible Pet Care

PARIS — A Chinese auction to benefit Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills will be conducted from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Winners will be drawn at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5, $10 and $20 plus bonus tickets. More than 300 items available. Food and refreshments served.
