RUMFORD — A Rumford woman was injured late Tuesday afternoon when the 1997 GMC Jimmy she was driving and a Nissan Altima collided at Routes 2 and 108, police said.
Jessica Pare, 38, suffered a chest injury and was taken by Med-Care Ambulance to Rumford Hospital. Also in the sport-utility vehicle were two young children, who were not injured.
The driver of the Nissan, Donald Cummings, 68, of Mexico, also was not injured.
Rumford police officer Lawrence Briggs said the Nissan was traveling west on Route 108 over Morse Bridge over the Androscoggin River at about 5:57 p.m. and Pare turned toward the bridge off Route 2.
“From what I gather, they both said they didn’t see each other,” Briggs said.
Rumford firefighters directed traffic and removed debris. The vehicles were towed by Adley’s Auto of Rumford.
