Coach: Jim Lunney (27th year)
Conference: MVC Class: C
Last year’s results: 11-5, lost in Western C semifinals
Returning athletes: Seniors — Sadie Ellsworth (C),. Katie Merrill (OF), Aislinn Forbes (IF/OF), Annie Cushman (2b), Vanessa Godwin (1b); Juniors — Becca Howard (SS), Hayley Peterson (OF); Sophomore — Tehya Johnson (IF/OF).
Key losses: Jessica Dirago (P), Autum Morin (3b), Maisey Griffin (OF), Jen Wakefield (OF)
Promising newcomers: Juniors — Olivia York, Ashley Savage, Blair Stevens, Lis Gammon, Bri Vitale; Cassidy Smith, Emily Philbrick; Sophomore — Natasha Hart.
Season outlook: The Rebels graduated an all-conference pitcher in Dirago and one of the team’s top hitters in Morin. Still, Telstar has a wealth of experienced talent back. York and Johnson will handle the pitching duties. The Rebels should be sound in the field and aggressive at the plate. If the pitching evolves, Telstar could be a team to watch in Western C.
