1915 – 2015
MESA, Ariz. — Wilfred Ernest Benoit, 100, of Mesa, Ariz., died at home on Sunday, April 19.
He was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Poland Spring, the son of Thomas and Edna (Bonney) Benoit. He was a member of the Masonic Tranquil Lodge No. 29, Auburn and Kora Shrine, Lewiston.
Wilfred enjoyed golf and skiing. He was inducted into State of Maine Golf Association Hall of Fame on Sept. 15, 2011. He was owner of Maine Music Service Co. and was a representative for American Capitol Investments.
Wilfred was a member of the PGA and taught professional golf at Poland Spring, Fairlawn and Apple Valley golf courses and at Sunland Springs in Mesa, Ariz.
He was predeceased by parents; and sister, Barbara Lagorio.
Wilfred is survived by wife, Martha; daughters, Janice Todd and Wendy Callanan; and son, Tom Benoit.
