DIXFIELD — The Regional School Unit 10 board of directors on Monday night gave the green light to three student trips.

Faith Rines, adviser for the Class of 2015 at Buckfield Junior Senior High School, received permission for the Project Graduation overnight trip to Lewiston and Auburn and on to Massachusetts.

She also received approval to plan a trip to Florida for the Class of 2016, with fundraising to start this year.

Buckfield Middle School teachers Annette Caldwell and Donna Whitney were approved for an eighth-grade trip to Boston on May 28-29.

In other matters, the Policy Committee began work to spell out requirements for high school students who enroll in college courses.

“A few years ago, there were only 10 or 15,” Superintendent Craig King said. “Today, a huge number are in early college programs. Students must be responsible for some part of the courses.”

The board welcomed new member Ed Parent of Peru and student representative Simon Burch, a sophomore at Buckfield Junior Senior High School.
