GARDINER — The Open Book Players will present their spring children’s show, “Fairy Tales . . . With A Twist,” at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 16 and 2 p.m., Sunday, May 17 at Johnson Hall in Gardiner. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Johnson Hall is located at 280 Water St.
The stories being featured have familiar characters from several well known fairy tales and nursery rhymes, but the plots are not quite what the storytellers might have had in mind. Imagine what would happen if three little wolves met a big, bad pig instead of the other way around? And what if the Little Red Hen were to really get ticked off at her lazy, good-for-nothing friends?
What happens when Town Mouse and the Country Mouse meet the Southern California Mouse? How do the Three Blind Mice really feel about the farmer’s wife and what she does to them?
The performance is directed by Lucy Rioux, artistic director for Open Book Players. For more information about the performance, contact Lucy Rioux at [email protected].
