AUBURN — Edward Little High School will send six students to Boys State at Thomas College during the week of June 21.

Run by the American Legion, the program exposes students to the workings of local government and state government though presentations, simulations and discussions. The juniors were selected by the staff at Edward Little High School. They are Liam Benson, Zach Copland, Spencer Dunn, Gareth Robinson, Kyle Romero and Ben Steele.

Liam, son of Kate Benson, has been active in three-season sports at EL during high school: soccer, hockey and lacrosse.

Zach, son of Robinson Copland and Holly Wise-Copland, has been a member of the basketball and track teams all three years and is part of the AVEC math and science program.

Spencer, son of Steve and Elizabeth Dunn, has been a member of the ELHS track team for three years and he is a five-time All-American in the Race Walk event. He has been active in student government, holding the office of secretary and vice president. He will be the senior class president for the class of 2016.

Gareth, son of Peter and Dawn Robinson, has participated in the speech and debate team, Youth Court and the French Club. He is captain on the jayvee lacrosse team.

Kyle, son of Kevin Romero and Stephanie Martin, has played three seasons of sports: golf, basketball and baseball all three years of high school. He is involved also with the AVEC program.

Ben, son of David Steele and Carrie Owen, is a three-season sports player as a member of the varsity soccer, hockey and lacrosse teams all three years. He served as captain of the hockey team and is captain of this year’s lacrosse team.
