SALEM TOWNSHIP — Voters in Avon, Kingfield, Phillips and Strong will have the opportunity to review and vote on the Regional School Unit 58 budget Thursday.
The district budget meeting is set for 6 p.m. May 28 at Mt. Abram High School.
This year’s budget proposal of $9.43 million is $347,550 higher than this fiscal year, which ends June 30. The local share is expected to be $3.70 million, an increase of $63,041 over 2014-15.
Local assessments are:
* Avon, $439,284, an increase of $11,588
* Kingfield, $1.48 million, an increase of $10,390
* Phillips, $872,371, an increase of $19,642
* Strong, $910,102, an increase of $21,421
Voters will go to the polls in all four towns Tuesday, June 9, to either approve or reject the budget amount approved Thursday.
