RUMFORD – A local organization is hosting a substance-free community social from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Morency Park on River Street, River Valley Healthy Communities employee Kelsey Arsenault said Thursday afternoon.
River Valley Rising is an offshoot of the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition that works to promote a drug-free community and inspire River Valley youth to lead healthy lifestyles.
Arsenault said anyone from local community organizations or businesses is welcome to “come along,” or “bring a food dish to share and enjoy the time together to network and talk about some of the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle.”
The event is part of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Prevention Week.
