MEXICO — The Mexico Public Library is announcing its summer children’s programming. On Tuesdays beginning July 7, the library will hold events geared toward children between the ages of two and 12. Most events will take place at the Calvin Lyons Hall, adjacent to the Town Hall building. The library has released its schedule of events as follows:
10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7: “Startling Snakes” with snake man Rob White.
10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14: “Double or Nothing!” two-man juggling, comedy and magic show with Steve Corning and Shane Miclon.
10 a.m. Tuesday, July 21: “Bugs!” with Jim Nutting of Maine Art Glass Studio.
1 p.m. Friday, July 24: American Girl Tea Party for girls ages five to 12. Girls are invited to bring American Girl dolls and/or come in costume if they wish. The focus will be on the American Doll named Kit.
10 a.m. Tuesday July 28: “Spark’s Ark!” Animal rescuer and rehabilitator Josh Sparks with live animals.
10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4: “Stupendous Science!” with Mr. I, the Science Guy.
10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11: “Earthjams!” with singer/songwriter Matt Loosigian.
10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18: “Ice Cream for Books!” the end-of-summer reading celebration. There will be prizes and games. Summer reading incentives will be given out. Lunch will be provided.
Donations will be accepted on the following days: July 14, 21, 28 and Aug. 11.
