Great indignation has been created among the residents of Gamage avenue, Auburn, by the act of some vandal in spoiling the new concrete sidewalk near Shepley street. A heavy team was driven on the walk and turned around before the concrete had hardened. This was done not only once but twice. The last time the team was driven along the walk for several rods while the wheels cut into the soft concrete more than four inches. The team was then turned around on the walk twisting the concrete all out of shape. Some of the Auburn officials are trying to find out who committed the deed and if successful the man will be prosecuted.

LaVerdiere’s Super Drug Stores opened a new store in Auburn Thursday at the Shaw’s Plaza on Center Street. LaVerdiere’s, headquartered in Waterville, is not closing its original downtown location at the Auburn Esplanade, according to Mike Laverdiere, executive vice president. “We really feel that the new location is a separate shopping area and not catering to the same customers at the existing Auburn store,” he said. “We believe people from other towns will find it easier to get to this location, especially those to the north.”
