FAYETTE — Fayette’s nonprofits will host “Fayette Summer Open House,” a day to celebrate its nonprofits on July 25.
The library will host story hour for all ages at 10 a.m., sell cookbooks and teach visitors to use its ancestry program.
The Fayette Fire Auxiliary will hold its annual bake and Rada Knife sale at 9 a.m. The auxiliary will celebrate its 25th anniversary with complimentary cake, and visitors can start their day with cake for breakfast between 9 a.m. to noon.
The Fire Department will host a chicken barbecue at noon.
Friends of Starling Hall will be accepting bids on items and gift certificates for local businesses such as Maggie’s Farm, Clark’s Marine, the Apple Shed, Steep Hill Blueberry Farm, Depot Mercantile and Cranberry Creations in a silent auction from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Winners will be announced at 4 p.m. accompanied by dessert.
Antiques, wooden utensils, woolen sweater mittens, a handmade basket and artist-made jewelry are some of the items donated for bid.
The Fayette Historical Society will give tours of Starling Hall during the silent auction. The proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the hall.
