RANGELEY — The Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce has announced details for its “July 3rd in the Park” Independence Day celebration.

Festivities will start at 11 a.m. following the children’s parade at 10 a.m. and the duck race on Haley Pond at 10:30 a.m., with fireworks underway shortly before dusk.

Throughout the day, area nonprofits will be providing live entertainment, various children’s activities and selling food and beverages.

Below are some events that will occur in the park for the celebration:

Children’s activities: make a tie-dyed t-shirt, face painting, games and contests.

Entertainment: Rangeley Friends of the Arts, Lakeside Dance Academy, Say What band performance at 7 p.m. and informational talks.

All kids who participate will receive a special Rangeley commemorative blue ribbon.

The chamber’s annual silent auction will be going on at the chamber office throughout the day, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. The new 2016 Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce calendar will also be available for purchase at the chamber office.
