FARMINGTON — The Nordica Homestead Museum on the Holley Road has opened for the summer.

The opening was delayed this summer to allow the new curator and caretakers to get settled in and to repair the driveway.

The museum is the birthplace of the famed opera diva, Lillian Nordica, and contains many artifacts such as costumes, stage jewelry, furnishings, paintings and sculptures collected during her career.

The Nordica Memorial Association is also announcing the appointment of the new museum curator and tour director, Crystal Williams. Williams has expertise in the preservation and display of vintage clothing and artifacts. Williams has a sincere admiration for Madame Nordica that makes her want to share her story.

Crystal’s partner, Eric Nichols, will accompany her on this adventure. Nichols has been involved with the Norlands Living History Center in Livermore.

Museum hours are 1-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday.

Admission: $2 for adults; $1 for children.

FMI: 207-778-2042.
