1935 – 2015
AUBURN — Jacqueline M. Deschenes, 79, of Clover Health Care, formerly of Van Buren and Auburn, died Saturday, July 18, with her family by her side.
She was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, Dec. 21, 1935, a daughter of the late Vital F. and Irene Nadeau Michaud. She was educated in her hometown schools of Edmundston and at one time, was the proud owner of Jackie’s Boutique while living in Van Buren.
She was a former member of St. Louis Church in Auburn and was married to Gerald M. Deschenes, who died May 1, 2011.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, ice cream outings, music, knitting, beano and playing cards.
Our mom will be remembered for the joy and laughter she brought to those around her, as well as her beautiful smile that matched her beautiful personality — and let us not forget her love for her lipstick!
She is survived by three daughters, Chantal Peterson and husband, Nelson, of Litchfield, Geraldine Deschenes of Jay, and Sylvie Martin and husband, Clifton, of Litchfield; three sisters, Geraldine Webb, Pierrette Picard and Huguette Dube; her grandchildren, Jaclyn, Danielle and Nelson E. Peterson III, Michael Deschenes, Evan Theriault and Robert Badgery, Melissa Gendron, Adrienne Mercier and Michelle Pillsbury; and a great-grandson, Camdyn Baroudi.
The family wishes to thank all of the loving and caring staff at Clover Manor in Auburn, as well as the Chapman House in Auburn.
