1946 – 2015

LEWISTON — Bertrand E. Berube, 68, a resident of Lewiston, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 18, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 2, 1946, the son of Edgide and Violette (Berube) Berube. Bert was a 1965 graduate of Lewiston High School, where he began playing saxophone with the “Moon Dawgs,” having played at many Lewiston Pal Hops, as well as Franco-American Festivals with the famous C’est Ci Bon Band.

He was a natural joker with a wonderful sense of humor, and was very easygoing. He had a lifelong passion for music and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include two daughters, Desiree Berube of Auburn and Michelle Lyseth of Grafton, Mass.; two stepdaughters, Teresa Doherty and husband, John, of Tampa, Fla., and Sherri Dunbar of Wiscasset; one brother, Robert Berube of Lisbon. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Lucille Langley.
