PARIS — The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office responded to 273 calls from July 13 to 19. Among them were:

* At 7:24 p.m. July 19, an unknown cellphone caller made a 911 hang-up call, telling police that a male was injured in a dirt-bike crash in the area of Valley Road. Deputy Richard Murray checked the area, but didn’t find any injured persons. 

* At 11:09 a.m. July 19, Sgt. George Cayer took a report from a Morganite Way resident in Newry that someone stole his gas grill from his seasonal home in the Sunday River area. Cayer said the Weber grill is black with three burners and valued at $350.

* At 11:08 p.m. July 18, deputies received a report of a party on Tamworth Road in Otisfield. With help from Maine State Police, and Oxford and Norway police departments, Deputy Matt Baker said the party was located and partiers had dispersed. One man was taken into custody for carrying a concealed weapon, and another was taken into custody by state police for a probation violation and illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

* At 7:08 p.m. July 18, Sgt. Timothy Holland took a juvenile complaint from a Sumner Road residence in West Paris that an 11-year-old was out of control. On investigating, he said the youth was taken by rescue to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.

* At 7:06 p.m. July 18, Baker was called to a fuel station convenience store on East Main Street in Denmark for an angry customer complaint. Baker said the customer was upset because the store clerk wouldn’t sell him alcohol. He said that when the customer left, driving fast in his vehicle, he backed into a gas pump — but the store owner doesn’t believe it was damaged.

* At 10:22 p.m. July 17, Deputy Jeff Huston was sent to Hiram to assist the York County Sheriff’s Office in locating a stolen vehicle from Jay that a deputy chased into a gravel pit in Hiram somewhere between Route 113 and Sebago. Huston said the stolen vehicle is believed to be a 1994 Chevy pickup truck. They did not find the truck.

* At 11:49 a.m. July 17, Cpl. Justin Brown responded to an open-line 911 call from a Park Circle address in Buckfield. Brown said dispatchers in Paris could hear a television on and people talking, so it did not appear to be an emergency. He said when he arrived, he met with children who were home and had “accidentally sat on their cordless phone and dialed 911.”

* At 12:05 a.m. July 17, Cpl. Chris Davis and Maine State Police Trooper Eric Paquette responded to a campground on East Shore Road in Peru to assist another law enforcement agency in the search for the suspect involved in a kidnapping, Davis said. “We looked for the vehicle in question and it was not located,” he said. “The suspect was not there, and a short time later, was apprehended in Franklin County.”

* At 3:49 p.m. July 15, Sgt. Tim Ontengco responded to a theft complaint on Dearborn Road in Hiram. He said the caller told him that someone entered a barn and removed a Husqvarna chain saw valued at $315. Ontengco said the case remains under investigation and may be related to other recent thefts where suspects have been identified and charged.

* At 1:48 p.m. July 15, Cpl. Justin Brown responded to a theft complaint on the Bethel Road in West Paris. He said a caller reported that someone pumped more than $200 in fuel and left without paying. The caller provided him with the name of a possible suspect.

* At 6:37 a.m. July 15, Sgt. Tim Holland responded to a theft complaint on Main Street in Sumner. A Maine Department of Transportation construction crew reported that during the night, someone stole all of their construction signs and traffic cones by Upper and Lower Sumner Hill on Route 219 in Sumner.

* At 11:30 p.m. July 14, Deputy Josh Aylward came across an injured owl on the West Bethel Road in West Bethel. The Maine Warden Service was contacted and the owl was taken to an animal rehabilitation facility.
