DIXFIELD — Regional School Unit 10 Superintendent Craig King said four board members were appointed to a withdrawal committee this week.
They are Ronnie Hutchinson of Carthage, Barbara Chow of Dixfield, Faith Campbell of Canton and Edgar Parent of Peru.
Voters in those four towns approved initiating withdrawal from the district, which also includes Rumford, Mexico, Roxbury, Byron, Buckfield, Hartford, Sumner and Hanover.
The committee will also include a municipal officer from each town, one member of the public from each town, and one member from the group that filed the petition requesting to begin withdrawal proceedings.
RSU 10 board Chairman Bruce Ross is required to call the first meeting of the committee in each of the four towns and preside over it until the committee elects a chairperson. The intention is to hold the four initial meetings in August.
