1930 – 2015
LEWISTON — Robert R. Marcum Sr., 84, of Lewiston, died at Central Maine Medical Center on Sunday, Aug. 2.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1930, in Clifford, Ky., the son of Frank and Ella (Sparks) Marcum.
Robert was employed at the Sun Journal as a linotype operator for 13 years. He was in the printing industry most of his life. He also worked for Very Best Systems.
He was very involved for several years coaching his sons in sports. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and gardening.
Robert was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Roy and Bill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dora Pike-Marcum; three sons, Robert Jr. and wife, Jeri, Richard and Randall; four grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer, Jacob and Justin; and four great-grandchildren, plus one on the way.
The family would to thank Mike and the ICU staff at CMMC for the care they provided Robert and his family.
