1933 – 2015

FAYETTE — Jeanette Mae Nichols DesRoches, 81, a resident of Fayette, died peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 13, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Oct. 17, 1933, in East Livermore, the daughter of Thane Bubier Sr. and Doris (Jackman) Bubier. She attended school at Livermore Falls High School. On May 1, 1970, she married Douglas J. DesRoches. They moved to Leominster, Mass., and moved back to Maine in 1997.

She worked for Livermore Shoe and E. I. Dupont Co. in Leominster, Mass.

Jeanette enjoyed bingo, gardening, traveling, shopping, decorating, watching NASCAR, especially Jimmie Johnson, and watching college football. She was a huge fan of the New England Patriots.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Douglas DesRoches of Fayette; daughters, Shirley Goding and her husband, David, of Fayette, and Sandra Thompson and her husband, Norman, of Fayette; grandchildren, Laurie Brown of Sabattus, Tanya Hood and her partner, Paul Jackman, of Fayette, Heather Williams and her husband, Mike, of East Livermore, and Jason Stanhope of Fayette; great-grandchildren, Brian Dubord, Cody, Avery and Ashlyn Williams and Camden Jackman; brothers, Thane Bubier Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Readfield, and Bruce Bubier and his wife, Mary, of Florida; sisters, Phyllis Pitts and her husband, Bill, of Pennsylvania, and Brenda Stewart of East Livermore; half-brother, David Bubier of Winthrop; and half-sisters, Jane Johnson and Betty Barnaby, both of Mt. Vernon.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Erland (Buster) and Donald Bubier; sisters, Ann Nichols, Margaret “Peggy” Merrill, Helen Holcomb and Doris “Popeye” Langlier and her son, Leroy Nichols, and his wife, Cathy.
