1936 – 2015

AUBURN — Jane D. Dean, 79, of Industry, died on Wednesday, Aug. 19, with her family by her side at Clover Manor in Auburn.

A twin, she and her late sister, Jean Champeon, were born on Feb. 29, 1936, in Greenville, daughters of Ivis and Louine (Potter) Dennison.

She was a 1954 graduate of Greenville High School and married her high school sweetheart, Warren “Red” Dean. He predeceased her on Feb. 11, 2001.

In addition to being a homemaker, throughout the years she was employed at Howard’s Rexall and Peter Webber Ski Shops and Janies Bears and Babes in Farmington. She retired, after many years of service from SAD #9 where she worked in the school lunch program.

She was a former member of the Board of Directors for Work First, Inc. and was a member of Shorey Chapel in Industry.

Jane was a true inspiration; she lived her faith, was devoted to the care of her family and believed in nurturing close friendships. She enjoyed get-togethers with “The Greenville Girls” and “The Mt. Blue Math Teachers’ Wives’ Club” as well as attending Bible study at Shorey Chapel.

She was a proud member of Red Sox nation, always enjoyed decorating her home for both seasons and specific holidays, and proudly attended the activities of her grandchildren. Being nana was very dear to her heart.

Jane is survived by her children, Michael “Mike” Dean of Wilton, Timothy “Tim” Dean and his wife, Vicki, of Mechanic Falls and Bethany “Beth” Dean of Industry; three grandchildren, Anna, David and Isaac Dean; sister-in-law, Cherri Nelson and her husband, Craig, of Farmingdale; brothers-in-law, Wayne Champeon of Dover-Foxcroft and Dwayne Mike Dean of Norway.

She was also predeceased by a sister-in-law, Gloria Dean.
