WILTON — Police said rain may have contributed to a head-on collision Friday night on Routes 2 and 4.

Three people were taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar ambulances where they were treated and released, Gale McDonald, Wilton Police Department secretary, said.

Wade Stone, 46, of Wilton was driving west in a 2007 Mitsubishi when his vehicle and a 2002 Buick driven east by Matthew Johnson, 36, of Weymouth, Mass., collided. Stone’s daughter, Kerri Stone, 21, was a passenger in his vehicle.

The accident occurred at about 8:46 p.m., about eight-tenths of a mile east of the Munson Road.

Members of Wilton Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
