DIXFIELD — The Ludden Memorial Library will kick off its second annual Pre-School Storytime on Monday, Sept. 14, librarian Peggy Malley said Thursday.
“Last year was our first year, and it ended up being extremely successful for us,” she said. “The nice thing is that it’s not just for Dixfield kids. Anybody in the area is welcome.”
Employee Loretta Blancato will again take the role of Miss Loretta and read to preschoolers from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays, except for holidays, school vacation days and snow days. There will be snacks and crafts.
In other business, Malley said construction of the front stairs is nearly done. Selectmen voted in June to award a $6,300 contract to J&T Masonry of Carthage to replace the stairs.
“The granite and bricks have been placed, and we’re just waiting on them to put in the wrought-iron railings,” she said. “They need to be sanded down and painted, and they should be good to go.”
