1948 – 2015
AUBURN — Lois Hewson, 66, of Lewiston, formerly of New Jersey and Massachusetts, passed to heaven on Saturday, Aug. 29, in Auburn.
She was born Oct. 1, 1948, in Everton, N.J. to parents Anna and Walter Gavel. She graduated from Lewiston High School, and earned her degree at Central Connecticut State University.
Lois was married in January 1985 to husband Bruce Hewson. She worked many years as an insurance claims professional, and was a parishioner of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Winthrop, Mass., and at St. Michael’s Church in Auburn.
Lois loved sailing on the ocean and traveling.
She is survived by her longtime friend, William Donovan Jr. of Massachusetts; her mother, Anna Gavel; and several close friends.
Lois was predeceased by her husband and her father.
