1946 – 2015

LIVERMORE FALLS — Rodney W. Staples, 68, of Livermore Falls, died peacefully in the comfort of his own home on Sunday, Aug. 30.

Rodney was born on Nov. 28, 1946, a son of Carlton and Christine (James) Staples. He spent his childhood growing up in Jay and graduated from Jay High School in 1965. After high school, Rodney began working at International Paper, where he spent his career in the shipping department until his retirement in 1989, due to illness.

Rodney was a well-liked man with many friends. He was a Maine outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing and outdoor sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially fishing trips to Millinocket. Although he loved the outdoors, the true love of his life was his children, who will miss him dearly.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Michael Staples and his companion, Tammy Burrill, of Jay, and Kelley Lisherness and her husband, Nelson, of Industry; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Michael and Aaron; a special aunt and uncle, Helen (Auntie) and Bob Hall, of Jay; and many cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents.
