LEWISTON — The race to be mayor of Lewiston is about to grow.
Former Lewiston City Council president and local real estate broker Stephen Morgan will publicly announce his candidacy at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dufresne Plaza on Lisbon Street, according to his campaign’s Facebook page.
Morgan, a Republican, is a member of the Kora Shrine.
On a page created at democracy.com/stevemorganformayor, Morgan lists three priorities: jobs, bringing services back in new and creative ways and continued reform of the welfare system.
On his personal Facebook page, Morgan confirmed his candidacy:
“Yes, I am running for mayor of Lewiston,” he wrote. “Please do like my campaign page at https://www.facebook.com/SteveMorganForMayor/timeline and join me tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 1) at 5:30 p.m. at Dufresne Plaza (72 Lisbon St.) for my official campaign announcement and kickoff.”
