JAY — A two-vehicle collision Friday slowed traffic at the intersection of Routes 133 and 156 at Bean’s Corner.
Randall Pollis, 16, of Wilton was driving a 1999 BMW on Route 156 and was crossing Route 133 when he collided with a 2003 Jeep driven by Steven Blanchard, 59, of South Portland, who was traveling south on Route 133, Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier said.
The intersection has stop signs and blinking lights on Route 156. There are blinking caution lights on Route 133.
Pollis stopped at the stop sign but failed to yield to oncoming traffic, Fournier said.
The accident remains under investigation.
NorthStar EMS ambulance personnel talked with the drivers and Pollis’ passenger, Megan Fowler, 15, at the scene, but they were not taken to the hospital.
Pollis’ car received estimated damage of $3,000 and Blanchard’s Jeep, $1,500, Fournier said.
Both were towed from the scene.
Jay firefighters assisted with traffic control and cleanup.
