MADRID TOWNSHIP — Police said a Rangeley Plantation woman became distracted Tuesday morning and her car crossed the centerline of Route 4 and went into the woods.
Franklin County Chief Deputy Steven Lowell came across the accident near Harvey Pond at about 7:24 a.m., Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said.
According to Lowell, Cary Millbury, 21, was traveling south at 7:11 a.m. when the accident occurred. The 2007 Mazda she was driving was a total loss.
Rescuers evaluated her but she was not taken by ambulance to a hospital, Nichols said.
