Ben Chin’s plan to renew Lewiston is not just good for Lewiston, it is a plan that can and will help veterans who call Lewiston home. In the next few weeks, we will begin to see unwavering support of patriotism and pride to those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Lewiston is home to more than 3,000 veterans and is served by a Veterans Affairs Health Clinic, a Veterans Center, two veterans housing and a veterans employment program, plus many other community programs that serve veterans.

Chin’s plan to add 100 units of resident-owned housing, renewing the local economy, can and will help veterans and all of Lewiston’s citizens in their housing and employment needs — a catalyst of change for any city in their revitalization efforts.

As an advocate for veterans with two tours in Iraq, I support Ben Chin as mayor for Lewiston.
