Congratulations to the Lewiston High School Blue Devils boys’ soccer team for its undefeated regular season. Hopefully, success will continue through the next couple weeks. LHS could possibly win its first state championship in boys’ soccer.

As a member of the inaugural soccer team at LHS in the fall of 1974 (which was also undefeated during the regular season), I am hoping that the 41-year wait for the Gold Ball will be realized this year. My bucket list will be shortened by one.

To win a championship, players need to win as a team. Hopefully, this year, all alumni soccer team members will go to the game and cheer the Blue Devils to a championship. A soccer alumni bus or caravan is being planned.

There are only a few days between the North championship and the Class A championship. I am hoping for the best and planning now.

LHS soccer alumni and fans should keep Saturdays open and join the caravan or get on the bus and help cheer on those Lewiston student athletes to the first soccer championship for the Blue Devils.
