1927 – 2015

LEWISTON — Latricia “Terry” Anne Foster, 87, died Saturday, Oct. 31, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.

Born in Auburn on Dec. 30, 1927, she was the daughter of Ralph D. and Alice M. Purington Turner. She was educated locally and worked for 25 years in sales at King’s Department Store, until it closed its doors. In 1972, she married Richard Tewhey, and they were happily married for 24 years until his passing in 1996. In 2004, she married Carlton Foster, and he passed in 2007.

Latricia enjoyed spending time at camp with Richard on Annabessacook and Keoka lakes, and she will be greatly missed by the many friends she made at both lakes. She will always be remembered for being a “people person,” always social and the host at gatherings with friends and family. She also enjoyed going to casinos in Atlantic City, Bangor and Oxford, and was an avid fan of “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune,” often solving the puzzles before the contestants.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra and husband, Gerard Joly, of Lewiston; two sisters in-law, Laura Turner of Auburn, and Rita Turner of Canaan; four grandchildren, Steve Joly and wife, Laura, Kevin Joly and wife, Brenda, Don Joly and wife, Karry, and Mike Joly and wife, Brooke; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by four brothers, Edwin, Norman, Ralph and Gerald Turner.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and kind nurses and staff at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion, 3E and the Androscoggin Hospice House staff for the tender care they gave to Terry.
