Library announces Story Time schedule

NEW SHARON — The Jim Ditzler Memorial Library has announced its Story Time schedule.

It will run Saturdays, Nov. 21, Dec. 19, Jan. 23, 2016, Feb. 27, March 26, April 23 and May 21.

Story Times run from 11 a.m. to noon and include stories, crafts and snacks.

Texas Hold’em set for Nov. 21

LOCKE MILLS — Texas Hold’em is set for Saturday, Nov. 21, at Jackson-Silver Post 68, American Legion, 595 Gore Road.

Doors open at noon, and games begin at 1 p.m. The cost is $55 for buy-in and there will be a high hand option, 50/50 and pull tabs.

Weary Club meeting for coffee

NORWAY — Members and friends of the Weary Club will meet for coffee from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.

This may be the last chance for members to see their friends who head south for warmer weather.

Country Show Nov. 21

JAY — A Country Show & Dance will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. at the Am-Vets Post on Route 4.

A lineup of music has been scheduled for the afternoon. Performing will be The Wildwood Band, Off The Hill, Paul Bright, Lenny Boucher, Patrick Libby, Chuck Duran and many more. There will be a 50/50 drawing, food concession and raffles.

Admission is $5 at the door.

New England boiled dinner planned

OXFORD — Grace Fellowship Church will host a harvest dinner at 5:30 p.m. Saturday Nov. 21, on Poplar Street.

The menu will consist of a traditional New England boiled dinner with an assortment of homemade pies, biscuits and a beverage.

The cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger with a special price offered to families with more than one child.

Dance, supper benefits resident

RUMFORD — A benefit for Carl Porter will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, at the American Legion.

The spaghetti supper will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a silent auction and 50/50 raffle until 8 p.m. with live music and a dance to finish the night from 8 to 11 p.m.

Admission is $7 for adults or $10 with the dance and $4 for children younger than 12 or $7 with dance.

Donations are needed for the silent auction.

Bake sale benefits Honey’s Bunnies

MEXICO — Honey’s Bunnies, a River Valley Relay For Life Team, will hold a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at 9 Carver St.

There will be lots of home baked goodies, Congo bars, brownies, whoopie pies and more, including hot cocoa.

SMART Robotics event Nov. 21

JAY — Spruce Mountain High School Area Robotics Team will be hosting the SMART Central Maine LEGO League Qualifier at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.  

The event will feature up to 32 FIRST LEGO League teams from central Maine who will be competing for awards and the right to compete at the Maine FLL Championships at the Augusta Civic Center on Dec. 12.  

The event is free and open to the public.
