NEWRY — The Board of Selectmen announced Friday that they plan to appoint Amy Bernard of Rumford as the new town administrator.
Bernard, who has served as the town manager of Paris for the past three years, and served as the town manager of Wayne four years prior, will replace Loretta Powers, who is leaving the position at the end of the year and moving to Florida.
“We are pleased to find someone with Amy’s experience and training,” Chairman Gary Wight said. “She has a strong academic and town management background. We look forward to her continuing to help us provide outstanding services to our taxpayers and community.”
Bernard will start in the position in January.
Bernard has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history from the University of Maine at Farmington, and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Maine.
