1939 – 2015

LEWISTON — Carol Louise Frederick, 76, of Weld passed away on Monday, Dec. 14, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

She was born in Lawrence, Mass., on Aug. 13, 1939, the daughter of Herbert and Gladys Hillis. She graduated from Natick High School in 1957.

As a young lady, she went to secretarial school at night, then moved around the country, working in different states in many different positions, including working at insurance companies, driving a tow truck and working for Strategic Air Command in Nebraska, just to name a few.

Later in life, she met and married Allan Frederick, who had three boys. She and Allan moved to Maine in 1993 in semi-retirement. They owned and operated a mini excavation service until 2011.

Carol enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, woodworking, snowmobiling, boating, reading and playing bingo on Wednesday nights. She loved researching genealogy, especially for Clan MacDuff. She was also a member of the Webb Lake Association. Carol was full of life and will be remembered and dearly missed for her energy, tenacity and spontaneity.

Carol is survived by her three stepsons, Jim Frederick and wife, Patricia, of Auburn, Mass., John Frederick and wife, Patricia, of Dover, N.H., and Jeff Frederick and wife, Lori, of Milford, Mass.; six grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Olivia, Spence, Ryan and Jacob; one sister, Irene E. Kemp of Natick, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Allan S. Frederick, in 2013.
