1926 – 2015

AUBURN — Dorothy A. Weeks, 89, of Auburn, died on Thursday, Dec. 17, at Clover Health Care, where she resided for the past several months.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 13, 1926, the daughter of Esther L. Cooper Brackenbury and Joseph E. Brackenbury Sr.

She attended Edward Little High School, graduating in 1943. After graduation, she had the opportunity to work at the Pentagon for a year before returning to Maine. She then worked at the First Industrial Bank in Lewiston. She retired in 1991 after working many years at Reese Corp. in Gorham.

After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at Central Maine Medical Center and worked in the gift shop making floral arrangements. This gave her the opportunity to socialize and joke with the customers, doctors and nurses. They all seemed to love to joke with Dottie.

In her younger years, she loved to go dancing and until recently she loved to go shopping.
