NEWRY — One resident has taken out nomination papers for selectman, but no one has stepped forward to get papers for SAD 44 director.
A town employee said Board of Selectmen Chairman Gary Wight took out papers for a three-year term. His term ends in March 2016.
Deputy Town Clerk Kelly Scott said prospective candidates for either position need not less than 10, nor more than 25 signatures of registered Newry voters on their nomination papers.
Nomination papers are due at the Town Office by 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25.
