HARRISON — Helen Elise Leino, 83, a resident of Harrison, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at her residence.
The former Helen Uusitalo was born in Highland Park, Mich., a daughter of Hjalmar and Anna Uusitalo.
She was united in marriage to Harold E. Leino on Nov. 19, 1955. They had four children, John of Highland, Mich., Kathryn (Mrs. John Furey) of New Hudson, Mich., Linda (Mrs. Paul Kangas) of Hartland, Mich., and Lisa (Mrs. Duncan Harlan) of Woodinville, Wash.; 14 grandchildren, Heather, Tracey and John Leino, Steve, Ryan and Tammy Bekkala, Katrina, Anna, Alison and Erik Kangas, Nicholas, Christy, Darcy and Ivy Harlan; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She attended Highland Park schools as well as Highland Park Junior College. She had been employed by Highland Park High School and Junior College and Plymouth Division of Chrysler Corp.
She was a lifelong member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Detroit, Mich.
