Dirigo Pines Retirement Community is opening their Alzheimer’s Support Group to the general public. The group meets the second Wednesday of each month at Dirigo Pines from 4-5 p.m. in the Conference Room. There is no cost to attend.

“We often hear caregivers say they are looking for support from people who understand what they are going through,” said Dirigo Pines Resident Services Director Juanita Taylor. “An Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group offers just that – a safe place for caregivers, family and friends of persons with dementia to meet and develop a mutual support system.”

The Dirigo Pines Alzheimer’s Support Group, facilitated by trained individuals, is a place to exchange practical information on caregiving problems and possible solutions; talk through challenges and ways of coping; share feelings, needs and concerns; and learn about resources available in the community.

Contact Juanita Taylor at 207-866-3400 for more information about the group.
