1972 – 2016
DURHAM — Alan E. Kelley, 43, of Durham passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 19, in Durham.
He was born in Machias, April 21, 1972, the son of Alan L. Kelley and Brenda L. (Farmer) Kelley.
Alan graduated from Lubec High School, Class of 1991. He attended Northeast Career School in New Hampshire and then went on to work for several trucking companies before becoming owner/operator of his own business, Kelley Express. He especially loved taking his wife and children in his “big yellow truck” on trips across the country.
Alan had 23 nieces and nephews who adored him. He often shared his passion for trucking with them as well. Alan was known for his infectious smile and his “great big bear hugs.”
In addition to his parents, Alan is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peg) MacFeat Kelley; children, Anne, Jack and Emma Kelley of Durham; his sister, Janelle Kelley; grandmothers, Amy Marie Dennison and Lorraine Rita Carter of Lubec; cousins; and nieces and nephews.
Alan was predeceased by his sister, Jenny Kelley; grandfather, Vincent Kelley; and grandmother; Beverly Kelley.
