FARMINGTON — The Farmington and Mt. Blue High School Alumni Association board of directors will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Mt. Blue High School.
The topic of discussion will be the future of the organization and, specifically, the annual alumni reunion which has previously been held in August each year. The group will consider a proposal to change the date of this event to September or October to coincide with activities at MBHS.
Fewer alumni have attended the reunion each year for the past five years. The Alumni Association is inviting any and all Mt. Blue alumni, as well as alumni from any of the high schools in the area which preceded MBHS. The goal is to create an inclusive event that will attract more alumni and celebrate and honor individual graduates and specific classes each year. The Alumni Association is specifically looking for graduates from the classes of: 1966 (50 year), 1976 (40 year), 1986 (30 year) and 2006 (10 year).
The Alumni Association was founded in 1960. In addition to the annual reunion, it sponsors and manages scholarships for graduating seniors every year. Last year the Alumni Association awarded more than $7,000 in scholarships to MBHS graduates.
